Support for people and communities in Kent
support has made a real and tangible difference to the lives
of older people in Kent.
At Independent Age we want the UK to be the best country in the world to grow old in. In reality however, widespread isolation and loneliness, insufficient care and a lack of money still make later life a struggle for far too many older people. Cantiacorum Foundation have generously supported our work in Kent helping us to increase the number of lonely older people receiving our friendship visits in the area by nearly 10% and the
number of people accessing our expert advice service
by over 80%.
A quote from a 75-year-old woman who has received benefits advice from us and enjoys regular visits from an Independent Age volunteer: “I think Independent Age is the most wonderful thing in the world – I never knew anything like it existed. It doesn’t matter about your background, or your religion or anything, they will help you if you need help and that’s what their logo says, to make you independent.
