Support for people and communities in Kent
CANTERBURY GIRLS CHOIR
The support of Cantiacorum Foundation over the last two years has helped to enable the group to travel to France for end of year performances in Boulogne and Disneyland Paris.
Canterbury Girls' Choir is a non-selective choir for girls aged between 8 and 18 from the Canterbury Area. Choir members attend schools across the region and rehearse on a weekly basis. The choir performs on a regular basis, raising funds for local charities and participating in international partnership projects with similar ensembles in Northern France. While the choir members raise funds towards trips themselves, the cost of transport and accommodation is covered by parents. With several sets of sisters in the choir and some members coming from families on limited incomes the support from Cantiacorum has ensured that all those wishing to participate in the trips are able to do so.
With the help of Cantiacorum Foundation, the girls have given performances at Boulogne Cathedral and Nausicaa and will be performing at Disneyland Paris in July 2017. These are memorable experiences for all involved, helping each choir member to fully realise her potential and forge lasting friendships within the group. These opportunities are so very valuable for young people and we are all terribly grateful for the support of Cantiacorum Foundation in helping to make them possible.
